Clatsop County is situated in the far northwest corner of Oregon - its western edge hugging the Pacific coast, and its northern edge bordering the mighty Columbia River. It encompasses 843 square miles of landscape, from riverbanks and shorelines to forests and mountaintops. Its largest communities include Astoria, Cannon Beach, Gearhart, Seaside and Warrenton.
Clatsop County has a deep history based in natural resource economies like fishing and timber. Today, the county's largest employers are concentrated in the manufacturing, retail, hospitality, healthcare and government sectors.
Clatsop Economic Development Resources (CEDR) and the Small Business Development Center at Clatsop Community College are focused on attracting new businesses to Clatsop County, as well as growing and retaining existing businesses in the area. CEDR and the SBDC provide support services throughout the business lifecycle, from start-up of a new business to expansion of an existing one. CEDR and the SBDC can also help plan leadership succession or sale of a mature enterprise.
