The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Clatsop Community College is part of a state network of SBDC offices. The network in Oregon represents a partnership among 17 community colleges, three regional universities, the Oregon Business Development Department and the U.S. Small Business Administration. This network, and others like it around the country, is the product of a nationwide small business assistance program first initiated in 1983.
The SBDC uses a client-centered approach to provide counseling, training, information and technical assistance for all aspects of business management, and throughout all phases of the business life cycle. Services are designed to help business owners and operators with access to capital; bookkeeping; business plans; recruiting, training and retaining employees; marketing; technology and more.
SBDC services are available to anyone who starts, operates or owns a small business in the area, and are available at low or no cost to the business. Private business counseling sessions with the SBDC are free and confidential.
